I follow a lot of drawing and comic teachers. Some focus exclusively on people who want to create art. Others, Like Georgia Webber, offer something more. Georgia helps people … I’m not sure how to describe it … turn drawing into … a spiritual practice? A process of self-exploration and self-support? A catalyst for profound inner growth?
My pleasure. Are you joining? I currently have a browser with Everything Art open to their mixed media journaling course you recommended to me last year!
I can't join in the live sessions because of time differences and Saturday commitments, but I'm hoping I can make the most of everything that Georgia has generously made available on her website!
What a great course! I just restacked your post in Notes so hopefully more people will see it. I loved your drawing and questions in response to the course prompt. I’m definitely wrestling with how to feel safe in the world these days.
Oh that's wonderful! Thanks Wendi. And it's a big one. I just wrote an email to a client where I shared that I created a song to help myself speficically with this. I posted to youtube to make it easier to share. Here it is in case you wanna check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTvhRj6LirI
There are a ton of things I love about this weeks post and the first thing is that you Medha in Australia and bringing someone back into my life who I knew when I first moved to this city 10 years ago. I met Georgia back then when she was making comics and I love seeing how far her journey has taken her. And the art you created through her class is powerful.
And then you called your thermomixer Daisy. And lastly the best teachers are he ones willing to do it differently <3
Great post, Medha! And thank you so much for the link to Georgia's sessions. 😊
